Downgrade Account
For downgrading the hosting plan, a nominal fee of $10 is charged from the customer and should make a note that he cannot use the downgrade form when changing from reseller to shared hosting, or when changing to or from a dedicated server. The customer is also advised to please make a note that the HostGator do not offer free content transfers for downgrades. The customer may downgrade anytime as there is no contract to keep the customer in their plan. The customer usually can opt from any the following three options for downgrading its web hosting account with HostGator:
1. Shared to Shared or Reseller to Reseller: When the customer downgrade from a shared account to a shared account or from a reseller account to a reseller account, they may use the online form.

Free Domain Name Transfer
These are used to Transfer registration of their domain to the Company. HostGator will transfer the primary domain name (.com, .net, .org) associated with a new account of the client upon sign up at no charge. It should be clear to make sure the client have completed the following process before submitting this domain transfer form.
Please understand that it is not necessary to transfer a domain name with the company to host the user website with HostGator. It is possible to leave the user domain registered elsewhere, but point it to the company using their Name servers. A majority of clients decide to transfer their domain registrations to HostGator for the better support. Also, if the domain is new, the user must wait 60 days until submitting this form, as brand new domains cannot be transferred. If the user still wishes to transfer the registration to them, please follow these guidelines:
1. Make sure the Who is information is up-to-date.
2. Make sure that user have access to the email address stated in the Who Is Information.
3. Update name servers to the HostGator name servers prior to initiating transfer.
4. Unlock the domain.
5. Retrieve the EPP Authorization key from the user current registrar.

Restore Account
The users have to pay $15 to restore their account from one of the company backups. The Company Shared or Reseller backups run once every Sunday. The data that will be restored will be from the previous Sunday. The restore fee of $15 will be waived if the user provides his backup file. With this request the user needs to provide various information like its Email ID, its reseller account domain name, its reseller account user name, its reseller account password for authentication purpose, domain name of the site to restore, the user name to that site, and the password to that site. The user needs to approve the charge of $15as a processing fees for the request. The user also needs to mention what is required to be restored. Site Builder
The Site Builder is free the user need to sign up for the Site Builder account. HostGator does not support the use of Site builder for add-on and sub domains, but it is possible, If the users want to use Site Builder for add on or sub domains, it must enter the correct FTP settings in the Administration Panel.
Creating a second Site:
1. The user need to Login to the Site builder account and look at the top for the Administer Panel icon.
2. In the left menu, click “Sites”. Then click the “Add New Site” icon.
3. Put whatever the user want for the site name. Then click the Publishing Settings tab.
4. Under “Host”, enter the user primary domain name or IP address of the server of the user. Under “Login”, type the user cPanel user name. Under “Password”, paste the user cPanel password. Under “Working directory”, add the folder name of the Add-on Domain’s Document Root. Under “Web site URL”, add the domain name to the new sub domain or add-on domain name (may require WWW).
5. Click the Verify Location button to test the settings, and click OK when done. He can now click the pencil icon to go back to the builder.
How to update an existing Site:
1. Login to the Site builder account and look at the top for the Administer Panel icon.
2. In the left menu, click “Sites”. Then look in the center for the user site name. Click that name.
3. Do not change anything, yet. Click the Publishing Settings tab. [screen shot]

The dedicated IP address must be assigned to the user entire cPanel. The primary domain and all add-on domains and sub domains will use the same IP address. The User cannot purchase a dedicated IP for only an add-on domain. Hatchling accounts are not eligible for a dedicated IP. To get the add on service of Dedicated IP, the user needs to provide various information in the request form including its primary Email ID, its primary domain name, its user name, and password for authentication purpose. The user also needs to authorize the $2 monthly IP charge to get the service.
Transfer Account
The HostGator will move up to one account from the user previous host for him. Neither free nor paid transfer services carry any guarantees. The Company will move the primary domain of the shared hosting account free of charge within 30 days of signup even if service has not been used. Additional domains or sub domains are not included in the free transfer service. The majority of transfers are completed in less than 24 hours, however, due to the nature of some transfers and depending on how many are currently in the queue, it could take up to 72 hours or more before everything is completed.
If transferring from a cpanel host, it is required to have the same amount of free disk space as used disk space. This is required so that full cpanel backups can be generated without errors. If this is not possible, the company recommends asking the user old host to generate a full cpanel backup for the account and placing this in the user home directory. If the user have databases to be moved, the user must specifically inform them where and how to access them in the instructions below. The User should not cancel the old hosting account until the user have changed DNS and thoroughly inspected their site to ensure everything was transferred properly. The Company will assist its user in transferring the files for the primary domain on the user account. If the user requires add-on domains to be transferred, email at transfers@hostgator.com for a custom quote. The Company do not offer free content transfers for downgrades.
Generate CSR
CSR stands for Certificate Signing Request. Generated CSR is in fact a certificated signing request submission to HostGator in response of which the HostGator would provide a digital certificate to the web application of the user with a security sign. The address and organization information needs to match the user WHOIS information for the domain for which the user would like the SSL installed on.
SSH Activation Request
The SSH Activation Request enable SSH for the user account. The user needs to fill the various details for the SSL Activation that include its Email ID, its Primary domain name, its login Username, and the Password for authentication purpose.

Update Primary Domain
If the user removes an add on or a sub domain through cPanel, the files for that domain will remain in the Document Root. Once the domain name change has taken place, the user can then move the files to the public_html directory. The form for updating the primary domain in fact does not register a new domain name for the user. The user must register the new name first, then the HostGator team will simply change the primary domain name associated with the hosting account of the user. The user should note that any SSL certificate on the old primary domain name will continue to only work for the old primary domain name. The Wild card and Multi Domain SSL installations will require additional admin fees dependent on the amount of domains configured. eNom Account
eNom accounts come free with any reseller or dedicated plan. It allows the resellers of HostGator to buy domain names for $9.45 per year, and works with WHMCS or WHM Autopilot.
The HostGator domain name for reseller account is offered via enom domain registrar. The customers of the reseller account holder with HostGator can now purchase or order domain name directly from the reseller account holder, and the reseller account holder can make another profit from selling the domain name.

The customers of the reseller accounts of HostGator have access to the eNom reseller tools and sub account structure i.e. eNom API and Registry Rocket.
Site Builder
The Site Builder is free the user need to sign up for the Site Builder account. HostGator does not support the use of Site builder for add-on and sub domains, but it is possible, If the users want to use Site Builder for add on or sub domains, it must enter the correct FTP settings in the Administration Panel.
Creating a second Site:
1. The user need to Login to the Site builder account and look at the top for the Administer Panel icon.
2. In the left menu, click “Sites”. Then click the “Add New Site” icon.

5. Click the Verify Location button to test the settings, and click OK when done. He can now click the pencil icon to go back to the builder.

Transfer Account
The HostGator will move up to one account from the user previous host for him. Neither free nor paid transfer services carry any guarantees. The Company will move the primary domain of the shared hosting account free of charge within 30 days of signup even if service has not been used. Additional domains or sub domains are not included in the free transfer service. The majority of transfers are completed in less than 24 hours, however, due to the nature of some transfers and depending on how many are currently in the queue, it could take up to 72 hours or more before everything is completed.
If transferring from a cpanel host, it is required to have the same amount of free disk space as used disk space. This is required so that full cpanel backups can be generated without errors. If this is not possible, the company recommends asking the user old host to generate a full cpanel backup for the account and placing this in the user home directory. If the user have databases to be moved, the user must specifically inform them where and how to access them in the instructions below. The User should not cancel the old hosting account until the user have changed DNS and thoroughly inspected their site to ensure everything was transferred properly. If the user wants to reboot its server the company representative will visit the place personally and the server can be rebooted for the user.
